But what if your family had to suspend those holiday traditions in order to battle a serious illness? What if each holiday was just another day that your loved one was confined to a hospital bed? Imagine the isolation and disappointment you might feel as a hospitalized patient, facing another holiday of doctor appointments, routine tests or yet another round of chemotherapy or surgery. The hardship that may follow seems magnified at this time of year and is all the more poignant when our own are affected.
