There are many ways you can give & make a difference
Bequest
Your will is an important legal document that ensures your estate is distributed according to your wishes. It also represents an opportunity to make a gift to the T&DH Foundation. A bequest in your will can provide significant resources, and will have a major impact on the continuing needs of T&DH Foundation.
One of the easiest methods of arranging a planned gift, a bequest by will, is becoming an increasingly common method of making a gift to the Foundation.
If you already have your will drawn up and would like to make a bequest, your lawyer can assist you in adding a codicil which is a simple attachment or amendment to your will. By simply adding a codicil, the full cost of drafting up a new will is eliminated.
Advantages:
Very flexible, assets allocated to the Foundation within a will, remain under the control of the donor until death.
The gift can be revoked at anytime by simply changing the will.
Bequests can take many forms such as: real estate, cash, securities etc.
Donors can stipulate that the donation be a percentage of the estate or a fixed dollar amount.
Drawbacks:
Surviving dependents may challenge the will in court.
Creditors may also challenge the will in court.
The donor will not witness the benefits that their gift will provide.
The T&DH Foundation strongly recommends that you consult your own advisor(s) to ensure that your gift is tailored specifically to your needs.
