We couldn’t have asked for a better day on the course! ☀️⛳
Thanks to an incredible group of golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, the Annual John P. Larche Charity Golf Classic raised an incredible $130,000 in support of the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation’s Reimagining Healthcare Campaign, with a focus on the replacement of Nuclear Medicine equipment at Timmins and District Hospital.
A very special shout-out to The Torchia Group — Mark & Nat — who generously topped up the $102,220 raised through the tournament to bring us to a fantastic $130,000! What an incredible way to finish the day! 👏
Why Nuclear Medicine Matters
Nuclear Medicine uses specialized imaging technologies, including gamma cameras and SPECT scanners, along with small amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to visualize how organs and tissues are functioning.
Unlike many forms of medical imaging that primarily show anatomy, Nuclear Medicine provides functional imaging, helping healthcare professionals detect changes at the cellular and molecular level — often before structural changes can be seen.
This technology plays an important role in the diagnosis, staging and monitoring of cancer, cardiac disease and certain neurological conditions, as well as evaluating organ function and treatment effectiveness.
Replacing this essential equipment will help ensure our local healthcare team has access to modern technology to support earlier detection, accurate diagnosis and better patient care in the northeast.
To every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, donor and supporter who helped make this day such a success:
**Thank you — Merci!** ❤️
Your generosity is helping us Reimagine Healthcare for our community.
